18 YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT
8 years ago, at the request of parents, Renaissance Kids started offering ISEE test preparation to a small group of students. Over the years, our program has expanded as we’ve consistently helped students do well on the ISEE and gain admission to the best secondary schools. We have now prepared more than four thousand students.

Today, we believe our program is the finest offered in the Greater Los Angeles Area. We have built an online assignment tracker that instantaneously scores the students’ assignments providing complete and timely feedback to both parents and teachers. This allows us to monitor the students’ progress.

WHAT IS THE ISEE?
The Independent School Entrance Exam is a standardized test offered by the Educational Records Bureau(ERB) for students applying to private middle and high schools. If your child is planning on changing schools, he/she will likely be taking the I.S.E.E, the S.S.A.T., or the H.S.P.T. (Catholic School Entrance Exam). Every year Renaissance Kids helps students prepare for all three exams.

THE RENAISSANCE KIDS PROGRAM
Renaissance Kids has been a leader in educational enrichment for the past 18 years. Using the comprehensive materials we have developed, we consistently educate students to the highest standards. We’ve been responsive to the fluctuating demands of the students and the avail¬able technology. Our Vocabulary Builder helps those students who learn best by listening. For the past several years, we’ve incorporated a significant computer-based component. With Foundations™ and EduCAD™, we’ve added another level of individually tailored instruction.
KEEPING PARENTS INFORMED
Before the first class, parents attend an informational meeting regarding the private school admissions process and important dates. Furthermore, parents learn how to best help their children prepare for the ISEE. Throughout the ten weeks, we communicate with parents via mail and/or e-mail. We keep parents apprised of their child’s progress and encourage parents to use the online parent monitoring system.
ASSESSMENT
Prior to the first day of class, the student takes a simulated diagnostic exam, representative of the real ISEE, to determine the student’s knowledge base, accuracy, stamina, and speed. This provides a benchmark by which to gauge weekly progress and to determine if additional help is necessary.
PROGRESS
Starting Week 4, the students take mini diagnostic tests presented in an ISEE-style format. This allows for the continual monitoring of the students’ progress and builds up their test-taking techniques and stamina. As well as gaining familiarity and experience with the types of questions and passages presented, students also grow comfortable with the fundamental process of checking their work and “bubbling in” correctly.
IMMEDIATE FEEDBACK
We’ve tailored the course to maximize instruction while minimizing interruptions to our students’ usual schedules. Homework is a necessity but is limited to 20 minutes per day. Students enter their answers to the homework online. Their responses are automatically scored, providing instant feedback and explanations, where relevant. For students who need or want more practice, our online component makes that work available at their fingertips, 24/7.
RESULTS
Near the conclusion of the course, students take a second full-length, simulated diagnostic. The results provide parents with a very predictive forecast of the actual ISEE test results.

It has been stress-tested by over a thousand students over a three-year period.
